Sam Sharma

Sam Sharma is Bhutanese born and was brought up in the kingdom of Bhutan in a very Orthodox Hindu priestly family. His father hoped that Sam would become a Hindu priest. Unfortunately, Sam’s mother passed away when he was only two years old. His father died when he was fourteen, leaving him to grow up in a difficult situation, looking after cattle and working on a farm.
At the age of 16 Sam surrendered his life to Jesus which changed his life and he began to reach out to people with the love of Jesus.
In 1995 he was arrested and put into prison for preaching Christ in Bhutan. There were years of hunger, toil and hard work, but through the faithfulness of God it has resulted in 85 churches being planted in the Northern regions of India.
In 2001 Sam married Jenima and they have been blessed with two children, Abishek and Afrin.
Now Sam, along with his family is teaching, training and commissioning trainees to reach out to the unreached in Asian countries. The training centre is based in Jaigaon, with people from Nepal, Bhutan, Assam, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur, Meggalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim coming to study.
Sam is a dearly loved member of Church of the True Vine, and we are thrilled to partner with him in taking the gospel to Asia.

Path of Life Orphanage

Path of Life Orphanage, in Andrapradesh, is the vision of two brothers whose father, a pastor, passed away when they were very young. They have a tremendous heart to help orphans and give them a loving, caring environment to grow up in.

The orphanage will ultimately be a home to 25 boys and girls.

As well as housing the orphans their desire is to give them a good education based on Christian principles. In particular the aim is to teach them English in order to increase their opportunities for employment and enable them to work beyond the Telugu speaking region.

If you would be interested in sponsoring an orphan each month please get in touch.
